PCI

Physical Cell Identifier is the identity of the LTE cell and is included in the LTE X2 setup procedure. The eNodeB can select the PCI within a list of possible identity values. There are 504 unique physical layer cell identities, grouped into 168 groups of three identities in LTE. The Primary Synchronization Sequence (PSS) and Secondary Synchronization Sequence (SSS) in a given cell are used to indicate the PCI to the UE.
